The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide range of programs and activities to meet the health, recreation, and leisure needs of our neighbors. Our outstanding facilities provide an array of programming for patrons of all ages – from soccer, football, and swimming to nature walks, bingo, and ballroom dance. Through our diverse programs and services, we promote health and fitness, stimulate social interaction, and foster community engagement, all in an effort to enhance the quality of life.

The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department is one of only 183 agencies in the entire country that has earned national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). This prestigious designation confirms our City’s commitment to providing our neighbors with quality Parks and Recreation programming and services, along with efficient and effective operations.

The Mission of the Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department is to provide fun and rewarding activities - in safe, attractive environments - accessible to all.
